Yesterday, 60 WSI consultants from UK, Ireland and France were hosted by Google at their London HQ for the launch of a strategic relationship between the two companies.

Google's direct relationships are normally limited to major advertising agencies such as WPP and brand name retailers such as Next and M&S, all of whom spend millions of pounds annually advertising with Google.

However, this is the first time that Google EMEA has partnered with an organisation like WSI that is focused on the SME market. A similar tie up between Google Latin America and WSI has been very successful for 18 months.

What this tie up will bring to WSI's clients in Europe, and in particular, here in the Bristol area, is the ability to keep track of Google's best practice and extensive market research.  Direct linkage with Google's Jumpstart team in Dublin allows us to access unique research and consulting services that are unavailable to other agencies.

Areas where this will impact are:
The reason for Google entering into this relationship is to enable it to better serve its many SME clients advertising on its Adword Pay Per Click platform.  Google is passionate that these customers spend their marketing pounds effectively (happy advertisors will naturally continue to advertise with Google).  With access to nearly 200 certified internet marketing consultants in the UK alone Google is able to make sure that its small and medium business customers can now run profitable internet marketing campaigns.
